Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning
Preserve the life of your carpet.
Our Special Techniques
At RM Interior Services, LLC. (RMIS), we use the hot-water extraction (steam cleaning) method of carpet cleaning. There are many different competing cleaning practices, but steam cleaning is widely considered a superior restoration and sanitizing cleaning.
This method outperforms other methods when removing embedded soils and other contaminants that are trapped in your carpet. Steam cleaning is also the preferred carpet cleaning method by many major carpet manufacturers like Mohawk, DuPont and Shaw.

Carpet Cleaning FAQs
Professional carpet cleaning uses chemistry that is not available to the general public. A true professional cleaner does not use soaps or detergents like you see at your local big box stores or corner grocery. These retail shelf products actually ruin carpet and leave sticky, tacky soapy residues in your carpets that actually cause your fibers to fail and matt as well as act as a dirt and soil magnet in turn waring your carpets out faster, causing them to look “ugly” and resoling almost instantly.
Next we will go to the equipment that the homeowner / general consumer has access to. These type of machines either sold at big box stores or rented at your local home improvement and hardware stores are only good for dumping tap water and soap on your floors and removing only the surface moisture off the top of the fibers and not actually rinsing and extracting all the soap and water from you carpets.
In short all you are doing is making mud and lessening the life of your carpet by trying to do it yourself. Finally, there is a good chance that if you do not have a receipt from a professional carpet cleaning contractor your new carpets warranty will be void by the manufacture.
The carpet manufacturers recommend that you have your carpets professionally cleaned at least once every twelve months if not sooner to maintain the carpets warranties and extend the life and look of your carpet.
We ask that you have all items up off the floor and areas to be cleaned free from debris. We always appreciate if you vacuum prior to cleaning however our techs will always vacuum when needed.
Yes we certainly do. RMIS understands that not everyone needs all areas of their floors cleaned so we do have minimum pricing for those small jobs.
Average between 3-5 hours for standard cleaning and 4-8 for special services and restorative cleaning. Running you’re A/C unit winter or summer will help remove humidity from the air and dry your floors faster.
Yes we certainly do offer that service at additional cost. We also need to know before scheduling so that we can send a 2 man crew to better handle your furniture.
The short answer is those companies that advertise like that or make such offers once in your home they start to upcharge you and add on fees, plain and simple it is bait and switch marketing. Part 2 of the question is no they are not cleaning it at those prices they are generally doing a splash and dash or slurry clean that just makes it look clean for a few days.
Yes they 100% can be removed from your carpets, tile, and upholstery when done with the proper chemistry and the correct methods. With our proprietary blend of chemistry and process “Turbo Pet Flush” we guarantee our service to eradicate the issues.
Optional Cleaning Services
Pet urine and pet hair/dander contamination treatments.
All carpet and upholstery we clean is deodorized at absolutely no charge. And even though the deodorizer treatments we use are powerful odor killing enzymes, sometimes just a simple clean and deodorize treatment won’t eliminate pet odors caused by urine, dander, and hair. Pet stain odor is a very common problem that could be much more complex than on first impression. Pet urine can easily soak through the backing of the carpet and into the padding underneath. In more severe cases the urine can penetrate into the sub-floor beneath the padding, this creates a problem that is multi-layered, and to remove the odor, each layers needs to be treated.
The urine also provides for the growth of bacteria. This in turn contributes to a worsening of the odor problem and can contribute to permanent color loss of the carpet fiber. To eliminate this problem, the urine must be removed and neutralized from each of the layers affected. If the contamination is limited to only the face yarn of the carpet then the cleaning itself may effectively remove the odor. In more severe case where urine has penetrated the carpet padding we can provide a proprietary service called a “TURBO PET FLUSH.” This process consists of An effective all-in-one formulation that completely removes pet urine salts, odors and stains. One application of our TURBO PET FLUSH does it all! This unique breakthrough solution combines oxidizers with enzymes and odor encapsulants to remove even the toughest pet urine issues. Effective on virtually any surface, including hard porous surfaces. Our pet flush unlike others can cover the entire carpet at once instead of simply a spot at a time. If an entire room is contaminated with pet urine RMIS and our TURBO PET FLUSH is the only true method to remove and eradicate the issue without replacement of your floor coverings.
Carpet fiber protection
A great way to keep the carpet cleaner, for longer is to have it treated with carpet protection. All carpet when manufactured has a protective coating applied. Eventually this wears away and it’s left with no repellency. As your carpet starts to age you lose protection because the protective coating that acts as an invisible shield will wear away. This coating is commonly referred to as “Scotch Guarding or Teflon.” This phrase is just a household brand or nickname consumers are familiar with. It’s a good idea to have this re applied after professionally cleaning the carpet because it will repel wet and dry soils, and the scotch guarding applied during the manufacturing process will only last so long. We apply this through a pressurized water line after the cleaning is completely finished. This is charged per sf and applied only to the areas that you request. This is not an all-or-nothing service. You can have it applied in one room, or all rooms.
Odor remediation and removal
RMIS utilizes THERMAL FOGGING for malodor remediation and removal. Thermal fogging is an effective smoke, protein, malodor, and decomposition odor removal procedure because it recreates a fires related properties of heat and pressurization. Porous material pick up thermally activated counteractant droplets in the same manner in which they picked up the smoke odors, closely duplicating what occurs during a fire. Thermal fogging is the generation of ultra-fine droplets in a range of 1-50 ppm using thermo- pneumatic energy. Liquid substances are vaporized and form ultra-fine aerosols by condensing on contact with cool ambient air, on being ejected, to create dense visible smoke and fog-clouds. This is a superior and preferred method of odor removal widely used in the disaster restoration industry.
